We fill new prescriptions and refills at no cost for covered medications for active-duty service members, active-duty family members, retirees and their family members, TRICARE Prime enrollees, etc.

Filling New Prescriptions
We fill prescriptions from both military and civilian providers. ALL new prescriptions, including renewals, will require activation and will be processed at our Main Pharmacy. Our virtual check-in system, Q-Anywhere, is texting/web based only,
no calls. Once a prescription has been activated the pharmacy will notify you via text message for pick up.
Providers from Our Facility
Your provider may submit a prescription directly to the pharmacy during or after your appointment.
- You can activate the prescription(s) during duty hours by texting “Get in Line” to 833-429-6533 or
- Activate in person at window #4 and wait or come back later to pick them up.
Civilian Providers
If you have prescriptions from a TRICARE-authorized civilian provider:
- The provider can submit an electronic prescription to our pharmacy, or
- You can hand-carry a written prescription to our pharmacy (window #4). Note: This is the least preferred option.
- You can activate the prescription(s) during duty hours by texting “Get in Line” to 833-429-6533 or
- You can activate in person (window #4) and wait or come back later to pick them up.
- In accordance with state law, all controlled medications are required to be sent electronically.
To submit an electronic prescription:
Ask your provider to select the:
- Pharmacy name: DOD Kirtland EPHCY
- NPI number: 1962501312
If you hand-carry a written prescription:
Check in at Window #4. Our technicians will process your written prescriptions.
Activating New Prescriptions
Main Pharmacy
Option 1: Fastest and Preferred
Scan the QR code below or text message “Get in Line” to 833-429-6533. Follow the prompts on your mobile device.

Option 2: In Person
Go to window #4.
Option 3: MHS Genesis Patient Portal
- Send a message to the pharmacy via secure messaging through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
- Select “Message,” then “Send a Message”
- In the “To” field, enter “Kirtland Pharmacy”
- Provide as much detail as possible. If sending on behalf of another patient, include patient info: Name, DOB, DOD ID, contact information (phone number) and medication name/strength.
- You will get a message back from the pharmacy in 24 business hours.
Requesting Prescription Refills
Base Exchange Pharmacy
ALL refills will be processed at our BX Pharmacy. We have
two ways to refill your prescriptions:
Option 1: By Phone
- Call our pharmacy refill line at 505-594-2846 and follow the prompts. Refills can be picked up at the Bx Pharmacy or at the Exchange ScriptCenter.
Option 2: MHS Genesis patient portal
- Log in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and select the Rx Refills tab.
- Select the medication(s) you want to refill and follow the prompts.
- If you wish to utilize the ScriptCenter, select “Find alternative pharmacy” and select “Kirtland AFB - Exchange ScriptCenter”
Note: Please allow 3 duty days for refills.
Picking Up Your Prescriptions
You’ll need a valid uniformed services ID card to pick up a prescription. This includes children aged 10 and older. Prescriptions not picked up will be returned to stock after
10 calendar days. If you can’t pick up your prescription within this timeframe, please re-activate your prescription. If you’re picking up a prescription for another person, please bring that person’s valid uniformed services ID (or photocopy, digital picture).
Main Pharmacy
Prescriptions processed at the Main Pharmacy can be picked up during duty hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Please approach window #2 and window #3 for pick up.
Base Exchange Pharmacy
Refills processed at the Bx Pharmacy can be picked up during duty hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ScriptCenter
The ScriptCenter is located at the Exchange building and hours of operation is
- Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Certain items may not be available from the ScriptCenter, such as refrigerated medications and/or oversized items.
Drug Take Back Program
Proper disposal of prescription drugs reduces the risk of unintentional poisoning, drug abuse, and environmental harm.
If you want to dispose of unwanted or unneeded drugs:
- Drop them in the secure bin located at the Main Pharmacy and Bx Pharmacy.
Several exclusions apply. This includes:
- syringes
- needles
- liquids greater than 4 ounces
Also, if a medication appears on the
FDA Flush List, it may be disposed by flushing.
