Personnel Reliability Assurance Program

The Personnel Reliability Assurance Program is a combination of two reliability programs:
  • Personnel Reliability Program: This program makes sure each person who performs duties associated with nuclear weapons or nuclear control systems is emotionally stable and physically capable. Its ensures these service members are reliable and professionally competent.
  • Arming and Use of Force Program: This program is only for security force members with a 31P or 3PO Air Force Specialty Code. The program establishes reliability requirements for arming Air Force personnel and the use of deadly force.

Off-Base Medical Care

Remember that you must report to your unit point of contact before and after getting off-base care. Bring any medical records you get to the PRAP clinic front desk. We'll scan them into your military medical record.

Referrals

If you need care, your primary care manager can't provide, your PCM will send a referral to the West Region contractor, TriWest. TriWest authorizes the referral and assigns you a network provider. To view your referral or make changes:

Urgent Care

If you're an active duty service member, you must get pre-authorization before getting urgent care. Contact the MHS Nurse Advice Line at 800-874-2273.

Emergency Care

If you need emergency care, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911. You don't need approval for a true emergency (risk of loss of life, limb or eyesight). Report the following information to your unit point of contact, as it may affect your ability to perform PRAP duties:
  • Condition limitations/diagnosis
  • Length of treatment plan
  • Medication side effects

Cancellations or No Shows

We report cancellation and no-shows to your leadership. This is a reliability and accountability concern. If you cancel less than two hours before your scheduled appointment, this is considered a no show.

Profiles

Physical fitness and TAW profile renewals are NOT automatic. You must comply with your treatment plan. To request a renewal, contact the PRAP clinic front desk at least one week before your profile expires.
